Quick Cyborg 009 doodle!

Today is 2009 09 09 - cyborg 009 day! Me and a lot of my swedish friends celebrated the day by watching and listening to the hilarious swedish dub of Cyborg 009. Look at this group on Facebook to read some wonderful quotes from the dub. Since I am going to get the day off on friday, I will yet again miss the bandana-day. Here's to make up for it. I really want a red bandana to go with my Lucky Luke shirt! (Btw, huge ear is huge. I kind of liked it so I left it that way!)

I was at work for 13 hours yesterday. Fun productive times, but now I am really sleepy. Back to a somewhat normal pace again! Funny part was that most of my colleagues stayed after I left!

I have been really busy lately. Every weekend I go away somewhere, so it is kind of hectic. Gotta work overtime to catch up on the hours I took off to be able to go home to Ludvika last weekend (I visited family and attended to my friends’ very beautiful wedding!) And on Saturday I am going on a short trip to Gothenburg.

The recent evenings I have been trying to catch up on my own projects, actually. There is never time for that! I did my second attempt on putting a ComicPress layout together for Försupen. It looks alright now, but it still looks like something that everyone has on their comicpress layouts. xD (The only layout that works IMO) Is there anyone who likes to create custom themes for ComicPress to WordPress? Be my guest. plox! Oh, and I haven’t updated Försupen yet, I just linked it… but I will! SOOOON. I have been up late nights working on the new layout, structure and also trying to prepare working on the next chapters. Trying to plan it out more in detail so that I won’t stress next time there is time to work on a new chapter (in like… ages!).

Late nights = sleepy Karrey. So I am going to try really hard to go to bed early today! It just sucks to sleep when creativity flows.

Today’s highlight: randomly started to speak to a really nice woman while waiting for the train this morning. I love it when you can pick up a conversation with a stranger like that, like you knew her/him before.

You probably noticed that I try to post at regular basis again. It’s been… 3 years since?

I really need to draw more, so I try to doodle something every day. Either work on what I already need to finish or silly doodles if I don’t have the energy to do something serious.

Here’s Gregg and Elsa from Försupen on the theme “speechless”.

Elsa looks more shocked than speechless and Gregg looks… surprised? XD I tried at least!

Oh, and Försupen is not dead, in case any of you wonder. I have pages to post but I just haven’t gotten around to do it. The layout I have now is really a pain in the neck to update, so I am trying to set up a comicpress wordpress layout since a long time ago. I am kind of lost in the code. I probably need to start over.

My point is that as soon as I get the webpage going again, I plan to post the rest of the pages of chapter 2 – and after that really struggle to update at regular basis again. At least 4 pages a month!

At a complete different note, my stomach has been really weird today AND yesterday. Probably the outcome of eating fast food late on Sunday.

(Argh! Says Karrey.)

Today’s highlight: Biking home went better today. But tomorrow I will probably not bike because I need to stay at work some extra hours. Also, my back hurts a lot. :S

Soaking wet!

Today the weather started to get really bad around 17:00 (super dark clouds and thunder!). I started biking home around 18:30 and halfway home the rain started pouring down like crazy and around me there were lots of thunder and lightning! Cozy! Reminds me of summers back home a bit. The rain was less cozy though. :S

My body feels all sore. Yesterday evening/night me and Robert helped our friends moving. Since the trains are going at irregular basis we had to take a bus and ended up on the wrong side of where we live (there were no other bus-stops!). We got back home at 01:30. He slept like a log but I could hardly sleep because of all the activity. XD Went back up 06:30 and jumped onto my bike on new adventures! Have been sleepy all day, though.

Today's highlight: got messages and mails from lots of awesome people. Gotta reply asap! :)

OMGPOP!

Wow, I slept for way too long today. I just got home from grocery shopping and half of the day has passed. Argh!

Anyway, I was going to write a short entry about OMGPOP. It's a community with tons of mini games. My friend Emelie introduced it to me and yesterday we played one game called Draw My Thing, which was super funny. It's a draw-and-guess game. Time really flies by while playing that game. Then I tried out Putt Putt Penguin which was really funny too. It's like mini golf, except it's on ice and you need putt your penguin into the whole. I won twice but it felt really random. My mouse started to act up one time and I dropped the sling repeatedly without actually clicking. XD

Moving part 2

Finally moved some more stuff from Skövde to Hjärup (close to Malmö where I work). My computer is finally here! *_* I have missed having it around.

I still have a cold. It all started with one day at the office more than two weeks ago now. We thought it was way too hot inside and opened the windows. But it was so windy outside, and I got all of the wind blown at me in my corner. Next day I woke up with a cold... mostly felt it in the throat. Got really sick the next thursday, but then I felt better on friday. BUT on friday I went to see bruce springsteen and it was freezing cold outside. Ended up with a horrible cough... went back to work next monday and had that cough for the week, but it started to go away until this friday, when we packed most of the stuff in the apartment (tons of dust everywhere). And yesterday I woke up with the cold being worse again (cough AND runny nose, and throat feeling crappy). T__T; So this is my third week feeling a bit crappy. Hope it goes away soon~ Since I have had this cold for so long now, I expect to be healthy a LOONG time as soon as I get well.

It feels so nice being almost settled at our new place now. Now that my comp is here I can start drawing more frequently - catch up on stuff. (*crosses fingers*)

First, I will get better! And unpack all the stuff and hope I won't get worse again... XD

I signed contract yesterday! Now I am officially an animator and technical artist.

It's hard to say professional animator without saying or thinking professional amateur. The words are so much alike, esp. in swedish. I'd say I am a mix of both since I yet have so much to learn. But you do count as a professional as soon as you make money, right? It's a tough definition...

I'd say I am a professional amateur animator.

Took me so many years, but I know that out of all of my pieces, that one probably deserved it the most! Because it took so long. :) And it was so much fun to draw too.

Wow! I hope I'll be able to read everyone's comments... XD The DD has been up for only 2 hours and this far I have received 1000 views out of the total of 4000 since I uploaded it in August.

Last minute environment sketch for an assignment + an other version of that character I posted a few days ago.

Yay, now I am only one assignment behind. The only reason why I let myself be behind on assignments is because this class is not obligatory, I am taking it for fun and learning. :) But I am trying really hard to pass. So that I have an excuse to draw.

My eyes look evil. Because they are bloodshot. Argh... it's been months since last time. Now... I must go to bed!

Edmund, Edmann and a background scenario. I go really inspired to draw a picture of these two - no eyes or whatsoever. And the characters in the backrounds won't have mouths. For symbolic reasons. Might get to draw this illustration someday - now that I have a sketch!

First official week in Malmö

My first official week in Malmö was really hectic but also very exciting. I am lucky I have such great and supportive friends in Malmö to be there for me (quasilie , fluffpudel , Kay and Wendy! <3 ). I wouldn't have anywhere to live if it weren't for them. Yeah, my safe plans for a place to live was ruined. Bad timing! Now I am looking for somewhere to live in a more permanent perspective (scary). It's hard to find aparments in Malmö.

I still feel like I have no place to sit down and relax, though. No where to feel 100% comfortable and do my things - but I know that is typical when getting used to a new city (and esp. when you have no official home to live at, your own personal space! XD). It feels like you are in the way, in someone else's territory, all the time. I know it will get better! But my stomach doesn't like it this far... xD My stomach always gets weird if I am away from home more than two days.

I hope to post photos of the office soon (I must know what I am allowed to post first). It's really empty right now, one table in the middle of an empty room, with two computers on it. We are still waiting for the furniture. I got my computer on thursday. And a new shiny 22'' wide screen (just what a 3D-animator needs *nosebleeds*).

Things I need soon to feel more comfy in the work space:
- indoors shoes/slippers
- my own coffeemug
- tea
- personal stuff like... Cornelius...
- more comfy clothes...
- animator's survival kit...
